Your patio can be a very important place for you and your family. It can be almost like a true sanctuary if you design it properly. Sometimes the patio door can be a little challenging to cover when you want to block out sunlight. There are blinds of all types that can be installed to dim and cool down your patio. You can find ones that will darken, semi darken, or just provide a shade for your patio during the summer months.  One main thing to think about is which angle your patio door faces. It can face the sun directly or it can already be in a darker side that doesn’t receive much lighting.

Mini blinds or Venetian blinds are the most common and you can control the amount of light that comes in. A patio can be dark, medium dark and it can be very bright using this these types of blinds.  You can also manually pull them up and pull them down. The decision would then be what kind of material you want it to be made from. The materials can differ greatly in price depending what you choose. You have vinyl or plastic choices, fabric, wood and faux wood. All can work great and there shouldn’t be any problem blending in with your decor.

Roman blinds can also be great for very bright areas because they are more of one piece than they are slats. They have the same idea as mini blinds do as they stack up when you pull them up. When they are closed they can block out all the light so this can be good for the bright side of the house. If this is the case they can just remain closed all the time and you would still have enough lighting to be comfortable.

Those who want to make the most of their patio and have a door with a window that needs to be covered can use any type of blinds. Blinds are the best choice because they can fit right on to any window and you can select from a variety that will provide you with what you need.

Cellular blinds are a great choice for window coverings. They are called as such due to their ‘cells within cells’ structure. This structure is also why they are also known as honeycomb blinds as they do look like honeycomb when you look at them from the side. If you want to know more about these blinds, here is a ten point guide that I have complied:

-          Cellular shades have one of the most powerful insulation capabilities among all window types. This is due to their cellular structures that traps airs between the cell layers.

-          Due to this insulation capability, cellular blinds can help to reduce the noise pollution coming from the road or anything outside your home. If you live in a noisy environment, they will be very useful to you.

-          Cellular blinds can help to reduce your energy consumption. As a result of the insulation, they are better able to regulate the temperature of a room, resulting in less use of heaters and air conditioners.

-          They can be installed in such a way that you have the option of opening the blind from either top or bottom. This can offer you much flexibility when operating the blinds.

-          Due to the above, cellular shades can also be installed in more flexible ways. If you have any odd shaped windows, they are able to accommodate such shapes more easily than a normal blind.

-          They are available in lots of different colors and styles, which make it easier to you to choose the right blinds that can match your current home décor.

-          Cellular blinds are available in blackout versions. These types of blinds can shelter out more light than normal blinds and makes a room much darker. It is great for people who want to sleep or rest during the day.

-          They are also available as motorized versions. These allow home owners to control the operation via a remote and are ideal for windows that are out of place.

-          They have elegant grain design that makes them an attractive décor items for your home.

-          Finally, there are cordless cellular shades that are much safer for your home. This is because there are no strings that can potentially entangled your young children and suffocates them.

Faux wood blinds are the best alternative in the treatments for window coverings. Window treatments are one of the most significant benefits of any home decor. Windows are the only part of your home that can be seen from both the exterior and in the interior of the home. For this reason, faux wood blinds have become one the most popular choices for window treatments. Faux wood blinds can be hung on either the interior or outside of your window trim.

A lot of the latest houses have intricate window trim and other accessible window treatments that might cover this gorgeous feature. Faux wood blinds now are obtainable in many different materials like wood and pvc. On the other hand, a very famous choice today in blinds is called faux wood blinds. Some of you are most likely wondering why these could be a wiser option than real wood blinds. Faux wood blinds are absolutely the best choice, however, they do have a few disadvantages and limitations compared to real wood blinds.

Fake wood blinds are artificial using compound materials of PVC. Unlike the real wood, these pieces  are less intricate and easier to clean, will not shape or mold, and will not deform because of the absorption of moisture. Since humidity is not a problem these fake 1 wood blinds could be hung in rooms vulnerable to high moisture such as bogs or laundry rooms. In addition, in contrast to real wood blinds, there are an unlimited amount of color selections in fake wood blinds. This allows you to match purely with the individual room decor. The shades on these blinds are managed entirely by the slats which hold back chips and scratches from viewing like they do on real wood models. Lastly, the fake wood blinds are even less prized than the models of real wood.
