Bedding is soft material designed to work with your existing bed and mattress. Bedding can make any bed feel more comfortable and pleasant. There are many different types of bedding materials that are designed to make bed feel warm and serve to help protect your underlying bed.

One of the most commonly used types of bedding materials is flannel. Flannel is a soft cotton that feels warm and yielding to the touch. Flannel is used in comforters, quilts and pillowcases. Flannel is often used during the winter months to add warmth to room. When first using flannel carefully wash it to help make it softer. Flannel is often used in less expensive bedding as a subsitute for more luxurious bedding. Flannel can be the perfect bedding material for both men and women.

Another type of material used in bedding is silk. Silk is considered a luxurious and upscale material often used in high end bedding. Silk comes in different colors and textures. Silk bedding can be used during the winter and the summer. A silk bedding set can be an ideal choice for someone who prefes material that is silkier than flannel and can be used year round.

Cotton is also another popular choice for bedding. Cotton has long been favored because it is easy to die, comes in many different colors and can easily be custom designed. Simpler and less expensive cotton sheets are perfect for a summer night. A thicker and softer cotton with a higher thread is also ideal for winter nights when the weather drops. Look for cotton bedding materials that have heft when you pick them up.

Bedding is an important and useful material that can help you personalize your room and make it feel the way you want to. Experiment with types of bedding and see what works for you.
